Happy when it Rains

I put this one on FB last night, but I love it so much I have to put it here too. Plus it's been raining all morning. And if you don't love Richard Cheese, you should. Okay.

Next

Well I finished my birthday pressie embroidery, I'll post a finished pic when the recipient has received it. So, onto the next project, which is going to be a pillowcase for me, adorned with Chinese acrobats.

Listening to: Beastie Boys '3 Minute Rule'

Hurrah on the dancefloor!

One thing I love about blogging is that for lazy arses like me, I can read a good blog and discover fabulousness with minimal effort. One blog I'm loving is Hollie's new blog, for it is a treasure trove of prettiness. And Hollie put me onto this artist via a post last week.

Oh! to go to Etsy and buy lots! My bedroom walls are crying out for all these drawings, especially this one:
What do you think these animals are grooving to? My guess is the Beastie Boys 'Hey Ladies'...it makes me groove.

This is why I wanna be able to knit

...so I can make something as cool as this guy.

Snb

Saturday lunch was the monthly meetup of the Peninsula and Bayside Rav girls, aka Stitch'n'Bitch. I must admit, I don't like that name, but I always provide the "bitching" of the meet, as I can't talk to people, eat, drink and knit at the same time. Well, I probably could, but it would go horribly wrong. So I invariably just go along and chew people's ears off. I don't know how people can knit socks and chat.
I do love knitting, but I'd never call myself a knitter. Regular followers of this blog (all 3 of you!) would recall my various posts about starting knitting projects, but note, you'll never see a post about a finished knitting project. Knitting for me is interesting and challenging, and one reason I love going to the knitting meet ups is to see other people's projects and marvel at their talent. And there was a whole lot of sock goodness on Saturday, so here's some pics for your entertainment:

Rachael's sock in progress. That knitted sleeve is a cardigan she made herself too.

Kylie's latest socks, blogged here.

Katie and Kylie's sexy socks.

No knitting for me though, I'm still embroidering away... piccy of finished pressie to come soon.

Happy things

I think it was Toni's post that inspired me to think of this list, I'm not quite sure.
But as it's a Sunday morning, and the haze is slowly starting to fade (outside I mean, not in my head) I thought I'd type some happy things.

So in no particular order, things that bring me happiness:

- Staffys and kittehs
- chocolate
- sitting warm on the couch under my quilts
- making new friends
- catching up with old friends
- hot tea and more hot tea
- embroidering my little fingers off
- the endless challenge that is knitting
- tattoos
- nice smells - coffee beans, bread, incense, favourite perfume
- my bed, cuddling the dogs
- the creativity of friends, whether it be art, craft, or music
- photography
- finding something great at the oppy
- purging crap from my house
- magpies singing in the morning
- books and movies - preferably books that make me think, and movies that make me laugh
- perving on hot blokes (!)
- lollies, especially red frogs and Redskins
- kitsch china ornaments
- getting a pedicure
- being out in the sunshine
- making pressies for people
and of course MUSIC, I couldn't survive without that.

Some crafty content

As anyone who keeps up with my poor blog will know, I think I've lost my life mojo. You get that. But part of it is, my craft mojo has gone with it too... so lately I've been doing what I'll call "comfort crafts". Comfortable in that I don't have to stretch my brain and come up with ideas or new things. So what I've been doing is starting innumerable knitting projects (from commercial patterns), and working on embroidery. Still going on my Sublime Stitching tote (and I'm very excited about their latest patterns - I love Carson Ellis!) and other embroidered goodness.

Here's a photo (taken with my phone, sorry Lola ate the digital camera) of my latest project. It's going to be a birthday pressie for a new friend of mine, but I'm pretty safe in assuming they don't read the blog.

Happy Friday all.

Listening to: Kate Miller-Heidke 'Don't Let Go' ...we are all busy.

Just a song I love.

Right now

I pinched this from Kitty and her Kaboodle, here.

Outside my window… it's windy and rainy, Winter seems to have hit us!

I am thinking… about the people have disappointed me lately, and am holding back tears.

I am thankful for… the people who truly care about me. You know who you are.

From the kitchen… comes lots of cups o' tea. I hate cooking.

I am wearing… ancient skirt, warm orangy brown cardi, and a khaki t-shirt. And a badge that Miss Gemma made me.

I am creating… a parallel universe in my head.

I am going… to make it through the day and achieve some work.

I am reading… knitting patterns.

I am hoping… always.

I am hearing… 'Hater's Union' by Steve Poltz is playing on my iPod.

"So please take heed, from a sad old man, and if you find love true love, to hold it, don't let it go, don't be afraid to jump on in.
Every action has a reaction, every action makes a ripple..."

Around the house… is a shambles. I've stopped caring.

One of my favourite things… is Ozzy, even though past behaviour this week has been bad, I still love him to death.

A few plans for the rest of the week… dinner with Lamby, sorting shit out, knitting.

Give this one a go if you like, I'd love to read it.

Trying...
