Say noes

I was thinking this morning is "It's time to get this Christmas pressie thing sorted." I know lots and lots of peeps have pledged handmade, but for my life, it's not practical, so I haven't joined in. So in the spirit of the concept however, I'm tossing around the idea of a:

That is, buying local, buying independent, buying handmade, buying small business, buying charity, recycling and repurposeing and obtaining all your pressies will thoughtfulness and good intent, rather than the common mall/shopping centre frenzy. This ties in from a post of mine on the film 'What would Jesus buy?' of about this time last year, so I think it's a good compromise. Join in if you like.

Sounds like a great idea to me..especially considering I'll be on a meagre Christmas budget this year.

Yay, I'm joining you! We called off the escalating hostilities of gift giving with my in-laws last year, and came up with "Christmas is for children". Now I've got about 15 kids t-shirts to stencil by December!

That's a good idea. I don't really have time to make handmade for everyone and I felt like ramming something with the trolley about 5 minutes after I entered my local K-mart last year!
