Vintage thingy Thursday - jigsaw

Today's vintage thingy is a jigsaw puzzle that I was lucky enough to find at the op-shop. Alas it's missing one piece, and the picture printed on the pieces is crappy quality compared to the picture on the cover. But isn't it delightful? Made by "Holdson", the back lists other products they make, such as "Portfolio of Pictures, Fairy Folk at Work, Colour Magic Painting Book, and School Pencils cases and Picture Painting Inks". A Googling yielded no joy about the company, but I'm guessing this is English, circa 1930's-40's?

Check out all the vintage thingys via the Apron Queen.

really neat puzzle. It's too bad you were missing a piece. It is very unusual.

This is the first time Ive seen one like this..Very unusual, pity one piece missing but you never know when you may find a matching piece. I really like the mermaids too....

Lovely old jigsaw puzzle! We used to do them a lot as kids - we didn't have a TV set before I was 15!

I love jigsaw puzzles. It would be fun to do vintage one. Love the picture and those great vintage colours.

Great puzzle! The box would be very neat framed in a beach themed room!
