And in the 50s it was probably filled with bodgies and widgies, rather than bogans!
It looks nice, the clothes were nice but other than visiting I wouldn't want to be a girl in the 50s. I'm not clever enough to be a blue stocking so by now I would have a grumpy husband (unlike my grumpy partner) and a couple of children. When I finish my time machine I'll take you and we'll go to the craft shops!
ohh that seemed a bit moody, sorry just had the most annoying contact with a 'friend' who is very into vintage and keeps telling me how good the 40s were! erm war! There is a great book which shows how little people have really changed. Its a thing where after the war the british government asked people to keep diaries and send them in. It comes across a bit like a collection of blogs. Its good reading all the whinging, mostly about the food and the weather.

Becca, yep, I'd like to take a time machine and go for a visit, and shop, and take pics...but I don't think I'd want to stay there. It's the old rose coloured glasses thing. What's the book called by the way?
